Neko Kingyo is a relaxing app where you raise "neko kingyo," creatures that are part cat and part goldfish, in a tank in your hand. Please check the frequently asked questions below. If they don't solve your problem, please contact us.
Using the App
How do I control the tank?
Swipe to turn the view, and spread two fingers to zoom in. Double-tap with two fingers to reset the view. Tap a neko kingyo to see how it is doing. Tap the water to call your neko kingyo.
How do I take care of my neko kingyo?
The feeding and cleaning controls are at the bottom right of the screen. Choose food from the food shelf and it drops into the tank one piece at a time. A full neko kingyo may leave food uneaten, and leftovers sink to the bottom. Tap leftovers on the bottom to pick them up; they go back to your stock as the same food. Lots of leftovers make the tank dirty faster, so clean it from time to time. Caring for them helps the neko kingyo in your tank grow and become attached to you.
When does a new day start?
A new day starts at 4:00 a.m. every day, in the time zone where you first used the app. Daily counts, such as how many Gold Scales you can pick up and how many times you can receive them from ads, reset at this time.
The screen is locked and I can't do anything
Tap the screen and a lock icon appears. Press and hold the lock to unlock. You can choose the type of lock in Settings.
My device gets hot / the battery drains quickly
Lowering "Image quality" in Settings reduces the drawing load. When your device is hot or in Low Power Mode, the app automatically draws more lightly.
Gold Scales and the Gacha
What are Gold Scales?
Gold Scales sometimes sink to the bottom of the tank. Tap them to pick them up. You can also receive them by watching ads, as a celebration when a neko kingyo becomes an adult, as weekly ranking rewards, and more. You can exchange Gold Scales for gacha draws, food, treats and so on. Tap the "?" next to your balance to see how to use and collect them. Gold Scales cannot be bought with money.
What is the gacha?
You can exchange Gold Scales for one neko kingyo egg. The probabilities for each kind are shown on the gacha screen. An epic one is guaranteed after a set number of draws.
What happens to neko kingyo that don't fit in the tank?
There are limits on how many neko kingyo can swim in the tank and how many of the same kind can be in it. Those that don't fit wait in the "Rest Room," and you can swap them in at any time.
I heard I can get Gold Scales by watching ads
Tap the ad button, and you receive Gold Scales when you watch the video ad to the end. There is a daily limit. Ads are shown only when you choose to watch them. While you are subscribed to Neko Kingyo Premium, or after you buy "Remove Ads," you receive the ad rewards every day without watching ads.
I watched an ad but my Gold Scales didn't increase
Confirmation can take a little time. Please wait a moment and reopen the screen. If your connection is unstable, it will be reflected once you are connected.
Rankings
How are rankings decided?
The weekly ranking is decided by the points from how much you raised your neko kingyo that week, and closes every Monday at 4:00 a.m. Japan time. You receive Gold Scales as a reward depending on your rank. Your nickname, points, and the kind and level of your most grown neko kingyo are shown to other users in the rankings.
I want to change my nickname
You can change it from "Account" in Settings (once a day, up to 12 characters). Please don't use anything that identifies you, such as your real name or contact details.
Account and Changing Devices
Will my neko kingyo carry over when I change devices?
Go to "Account" in Settings and tap the button to link your current data to your Apple ID with Sign in with Apple. On your new device, sign in with the same Apple ID from the option to return from another device, and you'll get your neko kingyo and Gold Scales back. If you haven't linked them, you may not be able to return to your data after deleting the app or changing devices.
I want to delete my account
You can delete it from Settings > Account > Delete account in the app. When you tap "Delete" on the confirmation screen, your neko kingyo, Gold Scales, and care and ranking records are all erased and cannot be restored. After deletion, you start over with a new neko kingyo.
Deleting your account does not stop auto-renewal of Neko Kingyo Premium. Please cancel it separately in the App Store, from Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions on your device. One-time products ("Remove Ads" and the limited breed "Yozora") can be received again by tapping "Restore purchases" with the same Apple Account.
If you cannot delete it, for example because you can no longer operate the app, please email contact@alpaxcode.com with the subject "Account deletion." To verify your identity, please include your nickname, the names and kinds of the neko kingyo in your tank, approximately when you started using the app, and, if you use Sign in with Apple, the email address of that Apple ID.
Neko Kingyo Premium and One-Time Purchases
What is Neko Kingyo Premium?
A monthly or annual subscription that gives you benefits while subscribed, such as monthly Gold Scales, faster growth for your neko kingyo, and receiving the ad rewards every day without ads. Please check the purchase screen for details.
What are "Remove Ads" and the limited breed "Yozora"?
Both are one-time purchases that you can use forever once bought. With "Remove Ads," the ad entry point is no longer shown and you automatically receive the ad rewards in Gold Scales every day. With the limited breed "Yozora" (Night Sky), one "Yozora" neko kingyo, which does not appear in the gacha, is delivered to your Rest Room.
How do I cancel?
On your device, go to Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions, select "Neko Kingyo Premium" and cancel. If you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the period, it will not renew. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription.
I want to use what I bought after changing devices or reinstalling
Tap "Restore Purchases" on the purchase screen. You need to be signed in to the App Store with the same Apple account you used to buy it.
I want a refund
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple. Please request one at https://reportaproblem.apple.com.
What happens to my neko kingyo and Gold Scales if I stop Premium?
The Gold Scales and neko kingyo you have received stay as they are. Premium benefits are no longer available.
